Lions in the Hoanib area

Cubs of Kowarib lioness: a substantial effort was made to locate & rescue the three cubs of the lioness that was shot near Kowarib. Sadly, the cubs could not be found in the mountainous terrain despite investing nearly 12 days and nights.

Observations on the lions that occupy the northern section of the study area continued. A new satellite collar was fitted to a lactating lioness in the Hoanib area.

A young adult male that moved into the Hoanib area during 2019 has become settled. He now between the lionesses of both the Hoanib and Floodplain Prides.
